PRISM - Food ShelfPRISM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1970 by folks who were concerned about local hungry and homeless families. Today more than ever PRISM plays an immense role for local families faced with school closings and job loss due to COVID 19.
During this hard time donations are down and visits to the food shelf are rising. What is needed the most are cash and food. Consider helping our vulnerable community sustain and stay strong. You can donate here. Or you can order from this Wish List where you can find snacks for around $10 and send directly to PRISM from the comfort of your home. Any donation will help! For every $1 donated, PRISM can spend as if it were $4. THANK YOU! |
CALLING ALL SEWERS!Anticipated demand for protective masks for health care workers nationwide is expected to rise due to COVID-19. Our healthcare community has been proactive in addressing the possibility of future supply challenges and calling out to sewers to help make masks.
While fabric masks don’t provide complete protection they offer the benefit of being able to be washed and re-used as each healthcare worker will need to change their mask several times during their shifts, as the mask becomes soiled or damp – for maximum protection. Your time and talent can greatly impact our ability to care for our community members and help ensure our safety as we do. Fabric masks will be placed over top of typical N95 respirators that health care workers wear so they can be re-used when they would otherwise be discarded. Here are some articles and links to different face mask patterns you can make! |
